What makes FFPredictions standout is our 'teammate model'. By looking at player depth chart placement, we can tell for instance, how the #1 WR affects the #1 QB. In fact, we look at the relationships between and among all the following positions.
Modeling all skill position players is important because a coach chooses to call a play for a particular player based on the alternatives he has. A great #1 WR improves a #1 QB, but may take catches away from a #2 WR.
Example:
By modeling what players typically do when certain skill levels players surround them, we can answer interesting questions such as "What is the expected number of touchdowns for a QB who scored 24 touchdowns last year? This new QB's team just signed a stud WR that scored a spectacular 16 touchdowns last year. The existing #2 WR is expected to score 6 TDs and the existing TE is expected to score 4 TDs. Using our model, the QB is expected to score 33 TDs ! (That fantasy trophy is going to look great on your desk!)
